Out 'N About Treesort
On my way to Journalfest a shopkeeper recommended that I stay at Out 'N About Treesort. It's up in the mountains near the border of California and Oregon. And as the name would suggest, it's a resort with a bunch of tree houses. This was, by far, the most relaxing part of the whole trip. I had plans to spend some time in Portland and Seattle but a snow storm was supposed to be blowing in, and it looked like I would have a hard time getting home if I extended my trip. So, I came back right away, driving in the pouring rain, staying ahead of the snow. I was really disappointed, but the Treesort made it all better. It was beautiful there, I could hear the rain falling on the roof of my tree house, and outside my window I had a view of leaves in all the colors of autumn. I sat on my bed, looking over my journal, and adding things here and there. The whole time I was thinking about how much I hoped to return to this magical place and spend more time. It could be so romantic, snuggled up to someone special, in that little house in the trees. Either way, enjoying the solitude, or soaking up the romance, it's a great place.

This is the tree house that I stayed in.

My view, out the window.

The accommodations are a bit rustic, but totally charming.

My tree house had running water, but not...

Say no more. FYI - some did have full facilities, but I had to go to the bathhouse.

Some were so high that they had a rope pulley arrangement to haul luggage up the tree.

They also offer horseback rides, a ropes course, a giant Tarzan swing, and a zip line.

I can't wait to go back.

I love the whole idea of this! It's like something out of Star Wars or Robin Hood.

That looks so incredibly freeing and delicious. Except for the part about the "you know", but hey, a small price to pay for something so awesome!
